Atlanta hosted the 29th MRO Americas, the world’s largest aviation maintenance event.
Aviation Week’s MRO Americas, the premier event for commercial aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), returned to Atlanta this year, underscoring metro Atlanta’s prominence in the aerospace industry. With its strategic location, robust talent pool, and thriving business environment, the region is a key driver of aerospace innovation and a hub for global industry leaders.
The Metro Atlanta Chamber set the stage for the week with an exclusive breakfast that welcomed over 100 attendees from around the world. Industry leaders, including Dave Holtz, Chief Operating Officer at Wheels Up; Glen Burks, VP of Operations at Archer Aviation; and Penelope Jacob, VP of Business Operations at Delta TechOps, engaged the audience with a dynamic discussion about MRO and operations in the commercial, private, and emerging air taxi sectors. Guests engaged with members of metro Atlanta’s dynamic aerospace ecosystem and connected with international industry representatives.
“We’re proud to welcome global aerospace leaders and highlight how metro Atlanta is expanding its international presence,” said Stefan Harrigan, Senior Manager for Global Business Development at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “As our region continues to grow as a global hub, we’re committed to connecting international companies with the partners, resources, and ecosystem they need to establish and thrive here.”
With iconic companies like Delta Air Lines, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, alongside innovators like Hermeus and Archer Aviation, metro Atlanta stands as a beacon of aerospace advancements. This robust ecosystem made the region the perfect host for MRO Americas, providing an unmatched platform for industry collaboration and growth.
“The Technical College System of Georgia has established programs with companies like Delta TechOps that play a crucial role in building a strong talent pipeline that supports the expansion of metro Atlanta’s aerospace and defense sectors,” said Kimberly Allred, Manager of Aerospace and Defense, at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “With Georgia’s aerospace sector projected to grow 15%, this talent pipeline positions our region as a leader in MRO innovation and technology.”
Metro Atlanta’s aerospace sector serves as a dynamic hub within Georgia’s $12.6 billion aerospace industry, supporting more than 800 companies statewide. Together, the region and state leverage collaboration across business, education, and government to drive innovation and lead the global aerospace and defense sectors.
