Last week, the Committee for a Better Atlanta (CBA) released its 2025 Candidate Scorecard, offering a comprehensive evaluation of candidates running for Mayor, City Council President, and City Council. The scorecard provides Atlanta voters with a structured view of how each candidate aligns with CBA’s policy priorities and their readiness to lead Atlanta effectively.

Founded in 1996, CBA is a nonpartisan coalition of business and civic leaders committed to advancing policies that support a strong local economy and a thriving, inclusive city. CBA helps foster a more informed electorate and promotes transparency around candidate platforms through initiatives like the candidate scorecard.

This year’s scorecard builds on nearly three decades of business and civic leadership, dating back to CBA’s first candidate forum in June 1996. Continuing that tradition, CBA launched the 2025 election season by convening the city’s first major forum. Overall, 80% of candidates participated in the organization’s evaluation process, which included written questionnaires and in-person interviews. Candidates were assessed based on their alignment with the CBA Policy Platform, which outlines priorities across four key areas: strong governance, leadership, and partnerships; inclusive economic growth; safe and thriving neighborhoods; and a sustainable, connected city.

Among the candidates evaluated were Mayor Andre Dickens, who is seeking a second term, and Marci Collier Overstreet and Rohit Malhotra, running to become City Council President.

With Election Day set for Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and early voting running from October 14 through October 31, CBA’s 2025 scorecard arrives at a pivotal time. It offers voters and stakeholders a clear evaluation of candidates’ positions on key issues shaping Atlanta’s future.
