ATLANTA – February 2, 2024 – Today the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) announced that Resia, a leading real estate company specializing in multifamily communities, will be investing over $25 million to establish a more than 252,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Fairburn. The investment is projected to create over 150 new jobs in Fulton County.

“Workforce housing is on everyone’s minds, no matter where you are in the country,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson. “Resia’s technology offers solutions to more efficiently bring new housing developments online, and we are excited to work with our community partners to attract businesses that fill niches in our statewide economy.”

By producing complete prefabricated components with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems off-site, Resia can significantly reduce construction timelines, enhance quality control, and address the increasing demand for more affordable and sustainable housing solutions. Resia’s vision includes commitments to innovation, sustainability, and meeting the housing needs of communities across the United States, including in Georgia, where the company currently has 1,365 apartment units under development.

“The investment in our new manufacturing facility in Fulton County represents our commitment to revolutionizing the construction industry and addressing the critical need for quality housing,” said Osvaldo Marchante, President of Resia Manufacturing. “By utilizing off-site manufacturing along with our unique construction process, we can build apartments faster and more efficiently.

Resia will operate a new facility at 1305 Whitewater Place in Fairburn. The facility, operated by Resia Manufacturing, a Resia subsidiary, will focus on fabricating pre-constructed bathrooms, kitchens, and wall modules. It is part of Resia’s expansion strategy, enabling the company to streamline construction processes while contributing to the local economy. “We are excited about the growth occurring within the City of Fairburn and the increase in highly skilled jobs, which companies like Resia Manufacturing facility are bringing to the area,” said Fairburn Mayor Mario B. Avery. “Resia Manufacturing’s investment boosts our local economy and reflects the thriving live, work, and play community we are cultivating.”

“This announcement is a great and important addition to Fulton County’s large and diverse industry base,” said Robb Pitts, Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. “Resia’s ability to rapidly produce housing will be a tremendous asset for our communities and residents.”

“Metro Atlanta is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, with new residents arriving every day, so it is particularly fitting that Resia comes here to manufacture building components for new housing,” said Katie Kirkpatrick, President and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “We applaud Resia’s existing investments in constructing multifamily housing in Decatur and Douglasville, and we are pleased to welcome their expanded manufacturing presence in Fairburn.”

Director of Statewide Projects Barton Lowrey represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDEcD) Global Commerce team on this competitive project in partnership with the City of Fairburn, Select Fulton, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Power, and Georgia Quick Start.
