An initiative linking tomorrow’s workforce to careers, culture, and community in metro Atlanta
This summer, the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) once again turned the region into a launchpad for young professionals through ATL Interns After 5, a signature initiative redefining how students connect with opportunity, and each other. The 2025 edition brought fresh energy and expanded programming to match the momentum of previous years, offering a mix of career-building events, cultural experiences, and community engagement to give interns a deeper understanding of what it’s like to live and work in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions.
This year’s series featured a curated blend of large-scale signature events, including gatherings at World of Coca-Cola, TK Elevator, and Your 3rd Spot, alongside smaller meetups at local favorites like Bluetop Chamblee, Ladybird, and Mutation Brewing.
Interns also sharpened their professional skills through virtual lunch-and-learns covering topics such as interview etiquette, LinkedIn optimization, and the Georgia Intern App, MAC’s digital tool that connects students to career opportunities in the region. Participation from colleges across the country showcased metro Atlanta’s draw for diverse young talent, with many interns eager to launch careers in the region.
“ATL Interns After 5 continues to highlight why metro Atlanta is a top choice for emerging talent,” said Katie Kirkpatrick, President and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “This summer, we welcomed more than 1,900 interns. With 88% planning to launch their careers in the region, it’s clear this initiative is connecting the next generation of professionals with the opportunities and community that make metro Atlanta a place where careers and lives can truly flourish.”
As metro Atlanta competes for top talent, ATL Interns After 5 remains a key part of the Chamber’s long-term workforce strategy. Each year, it creates meaningful pathways for top students to envision both a career and a life in the region. MAC remains committed to driving lasting impact in talent development and advancing economic mobility across our community.
