Barton Lowrey will lead MAC's Community Development work as part of the Economic Development team.
In an effort to better align its Economic Development division with regional partners and drive more strategic impact, MAC has launched a new Community Development team focused on advancing industry growth across the 29-county region.
Barton Lowrey has been named the team’s first hire, stepping into the role of Vice President of Community Development. With a strong background in economic development, Lowrey will play a key role in strengthening and expanding metro Atlanta’s existing industry base.
“Barton’s deep experience and collaborative mindset will be tremendous assets to our team,” said Kristi Brigman, Chief Economic Development Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “His background in economic development and understanding of regional dynamics make him well-positioned to lead our new community development efforts.”
Before joining the Chamber, Lowrey served as Director of Statewide Projects at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, where he supported business recruitment and investment initiatives. His career also includes development roles with the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and Darlington School, as well as early experience in the office of U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson.
Lowrey earned bachelor’s degrees in real estate and sports management from the University of Georgia. A Georgia native, he currently resides in Atlanta with his wife and two children.
MAC will continue expanding the Community Development team in the coming months to support strategic priorities and enhance regional collaboration. This initiative is designed to ensure the chamber has the talent and structure needed to support inclusive, long-term economic growth throughout the region.
