The Atlanta Metro Export Challenge (Atlanta MEC) is a program designed to assist metro Atlanta companies in their global business development efforts. Since its implementation in 2016, the program has supported more than 150 metro Atlanta businesses with over $1 million in grant funding and dedicated international trade counseling. The continued support of our economic development partners and Atlanta’s business community makes this one of the largest economic development initiatives in the region.

Through the program, finalist companies are selected by an independent panel of judges to participate in the annual Pitch Day competition where they can win $5,000, $10,000, or up to $15,000 in a reimbursement grant to be used for expenses related to their international business growth. They also benefit from a tailored mentorship and counseling program to assist in the development of global sales plans and go-to-market strategies as well as flight vouchers from our corporate partner, Delta Air Lines.
